2. Educators are role models who act ethically and honestly.
Educators act with integrity, maintaining the dignity and credibility of the profession. They understand that their individual conduct contributes to the perception of the profession as a whole. Educators are accountable for their conduct while on duty, as well as off duty, where that conduct has an effect on the education system. Educators have an understanding of the education system in BC and the law as it relates to their duties.
First Piece of Evidence
The first piece of evidence I chose to reflect the second teacher regulation branch standard is a decision making model. This model can be seen in the embedded document below. There is also a downloadable file of the model as well as the rationale available below. I created this decision making model as a guide to making professional and ethical decisions.

Reflection
I chose the decision making model to highlight my ability to meet the second teacher regulation branch standard, educators are role models who act ethically and honestly. The reflection and rationale for my decision making model is available as a downloadable document above. In creating this decision making model I reflected on my personal beliefs, the teacher regulation board standards, and British Columbia Teachers' Federation the code of ethics. As a new teacher I will act with integrity, dignity and credibility to honor all students and the profession. I know that was a teacher I have a responsibility to students and the profession to act ethically and responsibly as I may be seen as a role model.

Second Piece of Evidence
The second piece of evidence I chose to reflect the second teacher regulation branch standard is a YouTube Video. This is a youtube video I made with a classmate using Photostory 3. The Photostory 3 program uses audio recording, music, text and pictures to make a digital story. Please press play to view.
Reflection
This video is an exploration on the BCCT standard number one. The video looks at the issue of cyber bullying and how it effects students. The making of the video sparked thought as to how as a teacher I would handle this situation. As a teacher it is important I am aware of the issues that affect my students. I think talking students about how bully affects other people's feelings is a way to teach students empathy. While making the video I learned how to use the photostory3 program. I think using still pictures to create a video is a great introduction to creating a live recording video. In the future would use this program with students.
