Educators engage in professional development and reflective practice, understanding that a hallmark of professionalism is the concept of professional growth over time. Educators develop and refine personal philosophies of education, teaching and learning that are informed by theory and practice. Educators identify their professional needs and work to meet those needs individually and collaboratively.

Reflection
This frame of reference is an artifact of BCCT standard number seven, educators engage in career long learning. The creation of my frame of reference was a reflective process. During the process of creating my frame of reference I learned how to communicate my feelings towards teaching. I reflected on bigger picture of teaching and how I want to positively affect my students. My frame of reference is a working document that I will continue to add to and adjust as I develop as a teacher.

Reflection
I chose this picture to represent how I met standard seven, educators engage in career-long learning. I attended the BCTF new teachers' conference in 2012 and in 2013. Each year I registered for six workshop sessions at the two day conference. This picture is of a booklet I received from a workshop at the 2013 BCTF new teachers' conference. The topic of the session was "tout sur l'immersion francaise, pour et par les profs debutante" all on French immersion, for and by new teachers. The session focused on setting up a primary French immersion classroom. I enjoy opportunities to learn new methods and connect to other teachers. As a new teacher I am seeking as much information as I can so I can be solid teaching. As a teacher I have the responsibly and the privilege to be a life long learner.
